Electronic devices contain hazardous chemicals that need to be disposed of properly. When upgrading to a new device, keep in mind these options for your old electronic(s):

Donate it (e.g. Goodwill)
Recycle it (e.g. Recycle Ann Arbor)

The University of Michigan provides a free resource for the community to recycle old devices with the annual FREE e-Waste Recycling Event held in the spring each year. The e-Waste event site is updated each year once the event is scheduled.
